West City. It was his first time there, and Suji found himself standing on the sidewalk outside of a building, peering in to the windows and looking inside. There were several people inside, but he wasn't sure what kind of building it was. Just full of people.
"Huh."
He really had no idea what he was looking at, not until someone with a small child walked out of the building, the child in question holding an ice cream in it's hand, a happy look on it's face. Ice Cream Parlor. The thought occurred to him after a moment. He could get ice cream here. He watched for another few moments before he stepped into the shop. After some initial confusion as to where he was meant to stand to wait to be served, it was finally his turn. A cone with two scoops of chocolate ice cream was presented to him, though when asked for payment, Suji didn't pay. Instead, he turned and simply walked out of the shop.
There was a moment of confusion and disbelief on part of the shop worker, before they chased after Suji into the street, hollering about needing to pay for the ice cream. Suji simply ignored him, and kept walking, enjoying his cold chocolaty treat.
Gira sighed happily as she enjoyed a warm, sunny day in the Western City. In one hand she had a triple decker ice cream cone, lapping at it enthusiastically. Her peaceful afternoon was shattered, however, when she heard frantic shouting. Turning towards its source, she noticed one of the workers from the ice cream parlor she was just at chasing after a man with an ice cream cone in his hand. Based on what they were shouting, it appeared he was being chased down because he refused to pay. 'Jeez, guy must really like ice cream if he's willing to steal for it.'
Figuring she better try and interject, she rushed over to the two, putting a hand on the thief's shoulder to stop him before he turned to the approaching shop worker. "Hey, is the problem that he didn't pay? Here, take this. I'll pay for him." She reached into her pocket and pulled out a few Zeni to pay for the treat, handing it to the clerk. "Now, if everything's in order..." She practically dragged Suji to the other side of the street. "Hey, I don't know if you're from this planet, but around here, people tend to not like it when you walk off without paying for the stuff they gave you."
Fully ignoring the raised voices, he was startled and somewhat surprised when a hand found itself on his shoulder, stopping his forward progress. It wasn't a firm hold, just enough to cause him to stop and look for it's owner. He was confused only long enough for her to pay for the ice cream for him, before taking him by the arm and pulling him across the street. He followed pretty obediently, though didn't slow down enjoying his icy, now paid for, treat.
"Oh. My whoops." He frowned as she explained that he needed to pay for things. Of course he knew that! Well... now he did. The frown lingered as he considered this. Money. He had money! It wasn't a lot, but there was enough. The frown vanished suddenly as he reached into his pocket, and pulled out his own money, offering it to her. She'd paid for him, after all. He should pay her back! Right?
Without Kagaku there to guide him on that, he just had to rely on the kindness of strangers. Hopefully Gira was an honest stranger and didn't take all his money. "I didn't mean to make anyone upset." Gira
Based on how this man was reacting to being told these things, he didn't seem to be from here. He was certainly human in appearance, if a little tall. He acted human too, save for him seemingly being unable to understand the concept of purchasing items. Speaking of, he appeared to understand the concept of paying someone back, as evidenced by him reaching into his pocket and pulling out quite a bit of cash. More than what she paid! Thankfully, Gira was honest, so she just waved him off. "No, no, that's okay. It wasn't super expensive. Just, uh... just pay when you get something from a store next time." She chuckled and scratched the back of her head nervously. "I don't want someone to call the cops on you. You might get thrown in jail, and... well, i've never been, but I gather that it isn't a fun place."
She took a few more generous laps of her ice cream cone. "So, where are you from? I hope you don't consider me rude for saying so, but you don't seem like you're from here." The Turtle Hermit looked Suji over as she spoke. If he wasn't from Earth, where exactly was he from? He didn't seem like he was a Saiyan. He lacked several of their features, most notably a tail. He didn't seem like a Changeling or a Namekian, obviously. By all appearances, he was human. Maybe he was born somewhere else then if that was the case? Gira found it hard to believe that someone who was born on Earth couldn't understand commerce, especially if they were a fully grown adult.
