A serious looking Namekian stands in the center of the ring between the two competitors. He looks between Vod and Zaru before raising his hand to the air.
Zaru glanced towards the Namekian announcer as he raised his hand, and immediately he took the stance. His hand was outstretched like a claw, his other hand reared back in a closed fist. One leg stood far in front of the other, his Ki calmly flowing through him with an unusual freedom, a calm state washing over him. Usually, before any kind of fight like this, he would feel nervous. Not now. Not against Master Ka, and not after what he'd already learned. It may not have seemed like much to some other prospective students, but he understood how important it was.
True, he hadn't learned a Dodon-pa or a Kikoho, but he had learned more of himself, and that was high praise for any teacher. There was but a tiny shift in Zaru's stance as he suddenly rushed forward, his movements almost too fast for a regular human eye to follow as he immediately went for a gut punch to open the bout, hoping to follow it up with a spinning knee and send his opponent backwards. In an ideal world, it would knock the wind from his sails and eliminate him. He was, however, facing an experienced opponent in both martial arts, and who had fought him before. It was never so easy.

Zaru attacks Vod Ka with a normal attack (5 Potential damage)
Vod paid the announce no mind, he was irreverent as were the people screaming in the stands. He didn't come here for them, the Zenny, or the dragonballs. The crane hermit was here for a single purpose, to test his skills against the greatest warriors in the galaxy. Next to that, immorality itself was useless- boring even. The fact that his opponent was Zaru, his own student, only excited the old master. The monk had taken his lesson to heart, and was even more powerful now then their first battle.
The gut punch was simple enough to handle, a cross of his knee to deflect the blow. But before he could follow though with another counter attack, Zaru was upon him- a spinning knee towards his face. Vod was forced to defend, raising his forearm to intercept Zaru's kick- the force of which sending him sliding across the ring. Good
"Come Zaru! Show me the results of your training! Vod was past holding back now- and he crossed the distance between them in three long bounds. He moved in for a fake, pretending to spin into a high kick- only to stop short and raise his hands.
SOLAR! Immediately the surrounding light began to twinkle, a half second of shine. You could almost make out Vod's smile from under his outstretched fingers FLARE!
The shine erupts into a brilliant flash, filling the entire arena.

Zaru wasn't that surprised to see Master Ka blocking his knee; he was, after all, just that. A master in his own right, and one who had trained him well enough in Ki control. His experience, if nothing else, made him a formidable opponent in his own right. As Ka made his own advance, Zaru's martial arts expertise came into effect. But he was faster than before. Much, much faster. This wasn't something he had been holding back when they fought in the forest; the Crane Hermit had improved, drastically.
As Zaru figured that was why he was a master, his inexperience got the better of him, and suddenly he, along with half of the audience, clutched at their faces and eyes, blinded. What was that technique? He hadn't taught that, not even mentioned it! Zaru staggered a bit, struggling to regain his focus as his eyes tensed, still closed and confused.
Vod imminently flowed though into his next attack, pivoting into Zaru's guard. While the Solar flare was an effective technique, it drained heavily at the master's Ki reserves. The fact that he opened with such an ability speaks of Vod's sheer respect for Zaru, he simply refused to hold back. Every strike, every technique, was a potential teaching moment for his student- and he needed to see how effective such attacks can be.
"I'm not finished!"
Vod barked, the statement serving as both a boost and a warning. He tugged at his Ki, flowing though his chest and shoulders. From there he molded it, forming the Ki around both his open palms- and struck at Zaru's chest with a flurry of blows. Pure force surrounded each attack, dramatically increasing the potential damage.
Zaru had expected this, to an extent. He knew that the old man had quite a few tricks up his sleeve, even if being blinded was not one of them. As Zaru had repeated blows come down on him, the attacks raining on his chest and abdomen, he did his best to block by his instincts and form alone. With no use of his eyes at all, he had to think quickly. His sight was recovering, but he had to consider his options in the meantime. This was not an opponent he could undestimate.
As the exile continued to try and block to no avail, he decided he would push, throw his opponent off balance. Zaru suddenly began to push forward, blocking strikes as they came or pushing through them as they hit. He faked an incoming elbow, actually flicking up a forward high kick, trying to catch him on the chin and force some distance.

Vod only grinned as Zaru managed to fight though his predicament, he handled himself well without the use of his eyes. Perhaps a little too well, as Vod was caught offguard by the fake. He grunted, blood spluttering from his lips as Zaru's foot impacts the tip of his chin. It was all the hermit could do to keep his senses, he needed to establish some space. Rather then immediately recover from the kick, Vod instead followed though with the momentum. He arched his back with his head and reached out, planting his fingers on the arena in order to backflip away.
He landed about five feet away, and immediately kicked off toward's Zaru as soon as his feet touched the ground. "Yes!" Vod exclaims, coming upon his student with a flurry of blows. "That is the way Zaru, keep your guard up! The hermit traded punches at almost lighting speed. To the naked eye, his fists might as well be a flesh colored blur. "You're not going to let an old man beat you? Are you?!
Zaru had to think, and he had to think fast. He was trying to keep up, but his eyes were still recovering, and he had to keep up with Master Ka. That was no easy feat in of itself, doing it while half-blind was not going to be much easier. The younger fighter was quiet as the Crane Hermit continued to egg him on, and he felt something burning behind his eyes, and in the pit of his stomach. He was irked, irritated as he found it near-impossible to keep up with the flurry of blows. He was being simply punched over and over, the strikes hitting his face, his stomach, his chest and arms. He became more than frustrated. He was furious.
A fire suddenly lit in Zaru's eyes, and he could feel his soul burning hot with fury. The younger fighter suddenly let out a war cry like he never had before, his white aura shimmering over him as his eyes opened, full and clear. He bat aside a strike, his finger coming up in a low strike and jabbing towards Master Ka's side. As almost as soon as that one hit, another came, then another and another. The strikes continued over and over as the younger fighter let out his frustrations, attacking key points for the Master's ki channeling.
